Standard Tournament Rules for Reference

 Standard Tournament Rules for Reference:

Tournament are played with Swiss Rounds. The number of rounds played:

3 if number of players is 4-8
4 if number of players is 9-16
5 if number of players is 17-32
6 if number of players is 33-64
7 if number of players is 65-128
etc.

Then players will play the total of rounds at best of 3 games a round, with access to their sideboards after the first game and before the second. Players will be paired for each round depending on the points they have (I'll personnaly use the mtg arena website). For the first round, it will be done randomly. After each round, points of the different players will be updated.

Proposed Scoring system

A loss grants 0 points
A draw grants 1 point (if 3 consecutive draws then round ends for those players and each of them end up with 1 pts)
A victory grants 3 points

(Victory or loss are accounted with the totality of the games played, if a wins agains b 2-1, then a +3pts and b +0pts, because a won and b lost)

(If tournaments have more than enough players a single elimination round among top8 or top4 can be played)

The following tiebreakers are used to determine how a player ranks in a tournament (order of priority):
  1. Match points
  2. Opponents’ match-win percentage
  3. Game-win percentage
  4. Opponents’ game-win percentage

(During the games, the player that previously lost chooses who starts first; first game random)
If at the end of the tournament two players end up with the same score, they will have to play a round between them, the one that gained more points in that particular round will then be placed one rank above the other in the final results.

Each round will last for X days, it's up to the players to decide when they are going to play. Players will send through a specified mail with the object "Heritage97_tournament" the picture either an actual paper deck, or the moxfield (or equivalent) deck they are playing with before the beginning of the first round.
That deck is the only deck that the player will play during the tournament.

If deck picture is not sent in time, player has not played for an entire round or deck changes mid tournament. That player will be out of the tournament. No money is involved and there's no price for winning.

Finally, lets have fun, remember that this is a hobby, if there's any problem or any misunderstanding, lets be chill

On a sidenote: Of course any player is invited to organize their own tournaments under the rules of the format
